Hand fans are popularly known as an immediate means to cool us down when we're too hot. Another use they have is in smoke cleansing ceremonies and rituals. When sage or other herbs are lit, we can spread the cleansing smoke all over a person or an entire area. Palm fronds are colored and braided 6 1/2" x 3 1/2"
Suggested use:
Can be used during smoke cleansing. Hold your censer, shell, or another fire-safe container with your lighted material in one hand and let the smoke smolder. Holding the leather end, use the feather side to waft the smoke throughout the room or person. If cleansing an individual, start in the front from the bottom on one side and back down on the other. Repeat on the backside.
